On a personal note, I have some big news to share…
Twinkle twinkle little star
How we wonder what you are…
We hoped and prayed it
Would happen someday
And oh, we’re pregnant by the way…
John and I are expecting our first baby in April

After much waffling, I finally made it to one of the many local tattoo parlors and had some new ink added to my nape. I’m a little bit in love with it. The tattoo itself is a little icky looking right now (the photo was taken about an hour after I had it done) but there’s a picture for you below.

This afternoon my husband went into a local business to purchase a new rifle. Since he’s not able to drive at the moment, I took him and waited in the car with my Nook while he registered his new firearm. Afterward, he came out and asked for one of the business cards I carry in my purse for the woman who owns the establishment. I, of course, gave it to him and then we were on our way.
During the drive home my curiosity got the better of me and I asked him a few questions. Here’s our conversation, which I found more than a little hilarious….
Me: Did you make sure the woman was aware of what I write before you gave her my website? If not, she might be in for a surprise.
Husband: Sure, I told her you write kinky romance and erotica.
Me: So you didn’t tell her I write gay erotica?
Husband: I said it was erotica and that women like to read it, the gay thing was implied.
Me: Um, no. There are women who read and write kinky hetero erotica too.
Husband: Oh. Huh.
End of discussion.

A quote from Martin Niemöller:
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.
RIP Tyler Clementi, Asher Brown, Seth Walsh, Justin Aaberg, Raymond Chase, Billy Lucas and Cody J. Barker (picture not shown). You are all loved.
REBLOG to spread a message of love, unity and peace.

After listening to the urgings of bloggers and friends, I recently placed an order for a e-cigarette starter kit. They arrived in the mail today. The kit I ordered is the one pictured above. I just couldn’t resist the pretty pink model.
The equipment is new and a little strange to me, but interesting. Instead of cigarettes, a lighter, and ashtray, I’ll be using batteries, atomizers, and “nicotine juice” to sooth my cravings. It’s going to take a little getting used to, but I’m hopeful. That’s more than I can say about all the various gums, patches, and lozenges I’ve tried in the past. This product makes sense, in a weird sort of way.
