I’m happy to share that I’ve been offered a contract for my novella, Precious Ache, from Amber Quill. I’ve been dying to tell you all since I received the acceptance, but I wanted to wait until the contract was signed and delivered before I spread the good news.
There’s no word yet on any of the finer details yet, but I’ll be sure to let you all know something the minute I do.

Secrets and Lies
After the near genocide of his race, Teague Johnson now spends his life hiding in plain sight. In a city of populated by humans and nightfeeders alike, he and his brother are forced to cloak themselves in forged histories in order to blend in among the hierarchy of society.
When he’s not working at Oasis, the sex club he and his brother own, Teague keeps to himself. He relies on strangers to feed his sexual desires, but anything more intimate is off limits. A nosy boyfriend snooping around in his business is the last thing he needs.
Kyle Drake’s arrival at the club makes Teague rethink his favorable stance on one night stands. From the very first touch, Teague can’t get enough of Kyle. Their weekly trysts give Teague a reason to anticipate the future — until Kyle unexpectedly disappears.
A visit from an old friend thrusts Teague’s life under a microscope and endangers everything he holds dear. Allegiances are tested, and the lines of friendship blur in a race to stop an inhuman killer. Kyle’s fate hinges on Teague’s ability to untangle the intricate web of secrets and lies before it’s too late.

My glorious record for never having had a story rejected died yesterday evening. No, it did not suffer. The record was quickly put out of it’s misery and laid to rest. It will be mourned by me and only me, but I will not grieve for it long. The record was old and it’s in a better place now.

My latest TV fix is the series, OZ. I bought all six seasons last week, and am currently through the first two. I don’t know how I missed this show when it was on, but apparently I did. Of course, in the late nineties when it began playing on HBO, I was 16, so I imagine I was too worried about chasing my now husband to care about what was on TV.
For anyone who watched the series, I’m fascinated with the Beecher/Keller hook-up. Something about watching Beecher transform from a straight-cut lawyer into a wild man just pings my imagination. I’m trying really hard not to peek ahead to see what going to happen in the next four seasons, but it’s hard.
I wish I had time to sit and watch them all, one after the other, but the sad truth is I can’t sit still and stare at the tube for that long. My SO gets aggravated with me sometimes, because I continually have to be doing three things at once. I can’t just sit still and watch something, no matter how interesting it is. Multitasking has become an addiction in it’s own right.
So, has anyone else watched this show? What do you think? Am I going to be disgusted with the ending? No, wait… don’t tell me. I want it to be a surprise.
