Amanda Young

Amanda Young is a multi-published, erotic romance author. Since she tends to write whatever strikes her whimsy, all of her novels fall into various subgenres. Among her many available titles you’ll find contemporary and paranormal settings, gay and straight themes alike. You never know what merry adventure her evil muse will devise next.
Basically, she writes stories about people who love indiscriminately and wholeheartedly. Her characters are never perfect; they’re flawed and oftentimes troubled. Which makes it that much more satisfying when they receive the happy ending we all deserve. No matter what genre her books fall into, she can guarantee they’ll end with a happily ever after. In her opinion, it’s just not a romance without one.
Frequently Asked Questions
When did you start writing?
I’ve always dabbed with writing, but I didn’t set out to submit anything until 2006.
When did you publish your first book?
My first novel, Missing in Action, was accepted for publication in 2006. However, it was the third novel I wrote, Something More, which was the first to be released in early 2007.
Where do the ideas for your stories come from?
Everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. Have you ever seen something or heard something and wondered “what if”? Well, most of my stories started out just like that.
What’s your favorite genre to write in?
I waffle back and forth between contemporary and paranormal. While I love writing stories that could happen in real life, there’s also something special about penning tales that defy reality.
What do you like to read?
I read a lot of horror and romance. Those are really the only two genres that appeal to me, although there is the occasional nonfiction book thrown in for flavor.
What books were your favorite or most important to you when you were a child?
Mildred Taylor’s novels had a profound affect on me as a child. When I grew a little older, VC Andrews books did as well.
