I’ve been on a bit of a horror movie binge lately. Since I have scary movies on the brain, I thought I would share a few of my favorite werewolf movies. Stay tuned, cause I should have a few other categories to share soon.

My top three favorite werewolf movies (in no particular order):

An American Werewolf In London (1981)
David Kessler and Jack Goodman are two Americans who are making a three-month tour of Europe. While camping through the Yorkshire moors, they are attacked by some kind of large wolf. Jack is torn apart and the beast begins to attack David when the locals intervene and kill the monster. But while he is recovering in a London hospital, David has haunting dreams and visions of his dead friend, who insists that at the next full moon he will become a werewolf …

Most people know this film. It’s something of a classic, I guess. I like it because it’s hilarious. There’s nothing better than well done horror/comedy. 

Dog Soldiers (2002)
A six-man team of British soldiers are stalked in the Scottish highlands by a pack of horrible monsters.

 A gory, freaky look at werewolves. I love the accents in this movie.

Silver Bullet (1985)
The occupants of a small town are shaken by a series of gruesome animal attacks over a period of several nights following the full moon. A paralytic boy, with the help of his sister and his uncle, tries to figure out the mystery of who is causing it. At first everyone suspects a sadistic killer, but as the murders continue it becomes clear that they are facing something not quite human, but not quite animal …

 My mom has a bit of a thing for Stephen King films, so Silver Bullet was my first werewolf movie.
