Christian Ryder is rich and lonely — and a pyromancer. When the people around him keep dying, he forgoes personal attachments. The thought of his pyromancy hurting anyone else isn’t something he’s willing to risk.

Tanner O’Bannon is broke and desperate. The recent loss of his father has thrown Tanner into a tailspin of debt he can’t afford to pay. Working as a rent boy allows him to pay the mortgage and his college tuition, but it’s eroding his soul in the process.

Through the machinations of Male Companions — the escort agency for which Tanner works — the men are thrown together. Smoldering embers of desire fan the flames of love, but will it be enough to make Christian overcome his fear of love, or to save Tanner from the fire?

Only one thing is certain; both men will burn.

Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Male/male sexual practices (anal/oral sex), violence.

What the hell are they thinking?

July 24th, 2008 by Amanda Young

Did you know MTV is planning to remake Rocky Horror Picture Show? Frankly, I’m rather disgusted by this one.

What’s next? Are they going to remake Gone With The Wind, too?

Ugh. If you’re interested, you can read more about it here:

Writing Update….

July 23rd, 2008 by Amanda Young

For those you who are interested, I thought I would let everyone know that I’ve completed the sequel to Secrets & Lies. The Hard Truth revolves around Cadge and Red, two of the secondary characters in Secrets & Lies, and tells the story of their shady past and uncertain future. Below is a very rough sneak peek of the blurb.

Blackmailed into claiming a birthright he doesn’t want, Cadge Johnson is thrust into a world of politics and intrigue. His only ally is old friend and former lover, Red Taylor — the very man who swindled him into traveling to the council’s stronghold.

Thrown together with a man he’s kept at arm’s length for decades, Cadge fears for his sanity. He cares for Red, but believes no good can come of it. Too many people he has loved have died horrible deaths because of him.

The sordid past they share is nothing compared to the trials ahead. After nearly a century of love, loss, murder, and deception, only the cold, hard truth will finally set them free.

Brand New Review for Secrets & Lies

July 15th, 2008 by Amanda Young

4 Nymphs!
Secrets and Lies is another intriguing and well-written paranormal story by talented Ms. Young. On the surface, it appears to be a typical vampire tale, and then she adds in the twist of their ‘real’ origin, giving her story a unique spin I’ve never read before. Teague is an intense, sexy and interesting man, long used to depending on no one but his brother. I loved the description of Teague’s unrest and confusion of his feelings for Kyle and his almost overwhelming desire to protect him. These two lovers make a good counterpoint to each other and they’re obviously perfect for each other, even as Teague struggles not to admit his feelings for Kyle. Together they are passionate, sexy and erotic.”

Are you boyish, or girlish?

July 14th, 2008 by Amanda Young

You Are 40% Boyish and 60% Girlish

You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.

Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.

You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don’t actively fight them.

You’re just you. You don’t try to be what people expect you to be.

Please God, not another remake…

July 8th, 2008 by Amanda Young

I just found out Platinum Dunes is planning to remake Nightmare on Elm Street. Robert England will not be reprising the role as Freddy Krueger. Can you believe this crap? What happened to making new films? It seems like everything is a remake these days.

What I’m reading…

July 7th, 2008 by Amanda Young

I love this book. I’ve probably read it a dozen times. :)

moonfall.jpg

Moonfall by Tamara Thorne

Moonfall, the picturesque community nestled in the mountains of Southern California, is a quaint hamlet of antique stores and craft shops run by the dedicated nuns of St. Gertrude’s Home for girls. As autumn fills the air, the townspeople prepare for the festive Halloween Haunt, Moonfalls’s most popular tourist attraction. Even a series of unsolved deaths over the years hasn’t dimmed Moonfall’s renown. Maybe because anyone who knew anything about them has disappeared.

Now, Sara Hawthorne returns to her hometown…and enters the hallowed halls of St. Gertrude’s where, twelve years before, another woman died a horrible death. In Sara’s old room, distant voices echo in the dark and the tormented cries of children shatter the moon—kissed night.

But that’s just the beginning. For Sara Hawthorne is about to uncover St. Gertrude’s hellish secret…a secret she’ll carry with her to the grave…
